Natural and Effective Ways to Lose Weight

If you are trying to lose weight, start off in small steps first. Immediately getting surgeries without considering other noninvasive, alternative methods would be a bad idea. First off, follow the cardinal rules of eating more vegetables and less fat, and getting more physical activities is a must, regardless of the amount of pounds you want to lose. Here are a few things that you can start doing now, and help you avoid from having to go through surgery.

  1. Eat fat-releasing foods. Such food items will keep you from feeling deprived and binging on higher calorie foods. These include dark chocolate, eggs, honey, part-skim ricotta cheese and shrimp.
  2. Treat high calorie food as special treats. Make a spoonful of ice cream a reward after sticking to your diet for three days. Cut down on fatty chips and remove sugar when possible. Balance a little cheese with a lot of salad.
  3. Make water you main drink after breakfast. You can have orange juice for breakfast, and then focus on drinking water for the rest of the day. Despite their high calorie content, research has shown that sugary drinks do not trigger a sense of fullness the way that food does.
  4. Carry a small notebook for a week. Record all the foods that crossed your lips, including water. Studies have shown that people with food diaries end up eating about 15% less food compared to those who do not.
  5. Get a pedometer and aim for 1,000 more steps a day. On average, sedentary people only take 2,000 to 3,000 steps a day. Adding 2,000 steps will help you maintain your current weight and stop gaining weight. Adding more will help you lose weight.
  6. Add 10% to the daily calories you think are eating. Start adjusting your eating habits accordingly. If you think you are consuming 1,700 calories daily and yet you are not losing weight, reduce your intake by 170 calories and see if it works.
  7. Eat 5 or 6 small meals instead of 3 big meals. Even when you eat the same number of calories distributed this way, your body releases less insulin. This keeps blood sugar available and helps control your hunger.
  8. Walk for 45 minutes a day. While 30 minutes of daily walking is enough to prevent weight gain, exercising it results in weight and fat loss. Burning an additional 300 calories a day can help you lose 30 pounds a year.
  9. Look for an online weight loss buddy. Research has shown that they will help you keep the weight off. People with an online community were able to sustain their weight loss better than those who met face to face in a support group.
  10. Bring blue to your life. The color blue works as an appetite suppressant. Serve food on blue plates, wear blue while eating, and cover your table with a blue tablecloth. Avoid red, yellow and orange in your dining areas as they encourage eating.

By following the tips and suggestions above, you can lose weight fast. Consider supplementing your journey to weight with a calorie counter app to keep track of your intake. Also, visit a weight loss doctor or a weight loss center to learn more non surgical ways to lose weight.
